Special Disaster Assistance Grants

Our friends, family and growers affected by Cyclone Debbie have not been forgotten who are still cleaning up and assessing their losses.

We've seen first hand the damage up there as Kym's family farm at Proserpine was in the direct path having lost 80% of the crop.

Special Assistance Grants are available for Primary Producers and Small Business Owners who have been directly affected by Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie and associated rainfall and flooding, 28 March – 6 April 2017

An Exceptional Circumstances Grant up to a maximum of $25,000 is available to assist eligible primary producers for eligible activities.

Examples of eligible Primary Production activities include:

1. Purchasing, hiring or leasing equipment or materials to; clean premises, property or equipment or to immediately resume farming activities 2. Removing and disposing of debris, damaged goods, materials including injured or dead livestock 3. Repairing or replacing fencing on the property purchasing fodder or salvaging crops or feed for stock repairing or reconditioning essential plant or equipment 4. Maintaining the health of livestock or poultry 5. Paying additional wages to an employee to assist with clean-up work

Eligible Local Government Areas:

To apply for primary production assistance you must own a primary production enterprise located in one of the following local government areas: - Central Highlands Regional Council 5 - Part of Gold Coast City Council 3 - Part of Isaac Regional Council 1 - Lockyer Valley Regional Council 6 - Logan City Council - Part of Livingstone Shire Council 2 - Mackay Regional Council - Scenic Rim Regional Council - Whitsunday Regional Council - Part of Woorabinda Aboriginal Shire Council 4

There are many other grants available for disaster recovery for affected small businesses and primary producers including concessional low interest loans up to $250,000 and $25,000 Exceptional Circumstances Grant . For more info, explore the link below:
